Berger VLDs...

Post by chaseguitar on Sat Oct 31, 2009 8:49 pm

Anybody have any experience with these....I'm thinking of loading some in my .243 Win...I think they would be nice at longer ranges...but am concerned about short range performance...

VLDs ae made for longer ranges. You may have to experiment with the different bullet weights, but vlds are worth it in my book. I shoot 308 with a 26 inch barrel 1-10 twist and the 155s shoot extreemly good groups at 400 yards. Have shot 165s and 168s and the 155s do the best in my Savage. Berger sent me list of bullet combos of different powders and bullet weights. you have to load them touching or axually meshing into the lands, so you need to find out what your oal will be with whichever you choose and go from there.
